2020: Our 50th Anniversary
Bridgnorth Walking Club held its first walk in 1970. We had booked a Ceilidh in 2020 to celebrate, but COVID-19 forced us to cancel it. We will hold a celebratory event once we've all been vaccinated and group walks are allowed again. Details of walks will be on the Current Programme page as soon as we start our walk programme again.
In the meantime, our members have walked together in much of Britain. The photos below cover walks between 1970 and 2002, in no particular order. (Click on a photo to enlarge.) We know many of the members on the walks. Do you? Can you identify where any of the walks were held? Can you confirm the names of people in the photos? Email any information to the Chairman or Walk Programme Secretary. We'd also welcome any more old photographs to scan. The photos will be returned to you.

About the Club
Welcome to the Bridgnorth & District Walking Club website. We keep our members updated with any changes by email, telephone or post as well as on this website.
The Bridgnorth & District Walking Club offers a programme of Walks, usually on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month plus some other Sundays and Bank Holidays. Our programme includes some lowland walks, many hill walks and a few mountain walks varying from 7 to 12 miles long. We take advantage of the proximity to the Shropshire hills and the Welsh Marches, some of the best hill-walking country in Britain, with Snowdonia, the Peak District and the Brecon Beacons also within an easy day’s reach. We organise a short break away every year which has become very popular.
We look forward to new members joining us. Please browse our website to see the varied programme of walks on offer.
If you would like to talk to someone about joining or would like to come on one of our walks please contact the club walk programme secretary or complete the contact form below.
Before coming on a walk, please look at the Documents & Information page and read the Guidance for Members document. It is helpful if you complete a membership application form and bring it with you to your first walk. Please bring plenty of food and drink as we do not tend to be anywhere near a pub for our lunch breaks. We ask you politely not to bring dogs on the walks.
